Admission Requirements
Applicants must provide a valid study permit.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the start of classes and complete a placement test.
Placement Test
Once students have registered, they must take a placement test to determine their level of English
proficiency before beginning the ESL program. A test time will be supplied upon registration.
The EAP level placement test usually takes place the week before classes start. See Key Dates for specific test dates. Students either take the George Brown College EAP level placement test or choose to submit IELTS or TOEFL for level placement into the EAP program, but they may not choose both. Once the choice is made, it is final. The IELTS or TOEFL score report must be written within (2) years prior to the student’s session start date and must be submitted before the session start date.
